Eat Me. Spring, Brisbane

It's been a while since my last food review, I think I've been that flat strap with work, exercising [read here] and life in general that I've just not been eating out. But after my Brisbane weekend at the polo I had the perfect excuse to head out to breakfast. We ended up at Spring in the city a restaurant, cafe and bar serving brunch, lunch and dinner. They even do cooking classes!

Tucked away at the edge of the city at the corner of Felix and Mary, Spring has a chic farmhouse vibe with a bit of French provincial mixed in. The decor and layout is really lovely with a beautiful big kitchen and bar reminiscent of a country home, lovely big tables with comfy chairs and wooden accents. It's really very nice.

I nearly ordered 'The Rancher' from their breakfast menu (essentially bacon and eggs) before I found out it didn't come with toast. Hence I switched to just regular bacon and eggs (it's not on the menu but just ask) with a side of hash brown, and not just any hash brown mind you this is like a pattie with bits of bacon in it. It was pretty delicious. [Sorry about the picture again, I was so hungry I dove in before remembering to take a picture... I know, I know, I do it a lot!]

After glancing over their dinner menu I'd really like to go back there, the food looks lovely. Their pork rack with coconut caramel and sweet potato particularly caught my eye. Doesn't that sound delicious? The roast barramundi with scallops also sounds great as do a number of their other seafood dishes. Guess I might need to book another weekend up there. Why not? 4/5
