Suitcase. A Weekend Escape At The Radisson Blu, Sydney

Gosh it felt good to get on a plane again... And off to Sydney nonetheless. It's been nearly 3 years since I last visited and as I glimpsed the bridge flying in it felt like a true welcome back.

I was in town for the Supercar Gala dinner but that didn't mean there wasn't plenty of time to pound the pavements around town.

I hit the ground running with a quick stop by Circular Quay for a taste of what I'd been missing...

Then it was time to check into my home for the weekend. The Radisson Blu. This icon of the CBD has the kind of grand exterior you would expect to see in Europe. Dating right back to 1850s, it felt like I was back in London. Sigh.

With a recent renovation, the interior is also looking more glamourous than ever. Channelling a chic art deco theme, the fit out oozes sophistication. Sconces align the walls, hints of metallic appear at regular intervals and the chairs are luscious velvet. It's exactly how I'm styling my own apartment right now.

Also, bonus points for possibly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on... It was heavenly. After a shower and serious glam-ifying I was ready to go, whisked out into a waiting cab by the ever-helpful concierge staff.

The event was right on Darling Harbour providing a spectacular view of the city and its twinkling lights. We ate, drank and danced til the wee hours, then it was back to my 'palais' residence for an epic slumber.

The next day called for a dose of serious sunshine and salty air - Bondi was the perfect destination. We took a dip, strolled the foreshore and of course I had to get a snap of the iconic Icebergs.

Then before I knew it, it was time to head on home to Melbourne. Thanks Sydney, you're always a blast, and a big thank you to the Radisson Blu for hosting me. Book your own stay here - you won't regret it.
