Safe to say I was like a kid in a candy store. I attended the conference in London last year and was expecting a much smaller scale production here in Aus, but it was even better!
After 10hrs of chatting, smiling and teetering in heels, I had definitely worked-up quite the appetite. Time for dinner at, the newly opened, Aristotle’s in Neutral Bay.
A mere hop, skip and jump over the bridge and we had arrived. Ushered to a table by the window by quite possibly the best waiter I’ve ever had [his name is Miguel], we took in our surroundings. The décor oozes sophistication and style with a subtle nautical theme, complete with ah-mazing pendant lights, gold cutlery and porthole-style mirrors. In a word, it’s lush.
Having seen several photos of their amazing cocktails, I knew exactly what I wanted to order. The "Greek Goddess" - Sipsmith Sloe Gin, Campari, Peychaud's bitters, pink grapefruit, Greek prosecco topped with vanilla fairy floss. If I were a cocktail this would be me. Sassy and exciting with a sweet outer coating.
We also tried this smoking little number – equally delicious!...
Now, take a breath, because you’re about to witness some truly breath-taking food. First up, a little nibble of delightfully fresh pita and hummus.
One of my favourites – scallops with kohlrabi, cauliflower puree and pastourma – a sensation.
Haloumi with pomegranate, honey and balsamic. Exactly as Miguel said it would be – little pillowy clouds. The best haloumi I’ve ever had.

Then finally, when we could fit no more – Aristotle’s cigar. Filo pastry filled with pistachio cream. Served in a wooden cigar box no less!
