Eat Me. Aristotle's, Neutral Bay

I had the pleasure of travelling to Sydney last weekend for this year’s TravMedia conference. Every year the travel press descend upon an unsuspecting conference centre to mix, mingle, chat wanderlust and sip champagne with representatives from hotels, tourism boards, airlines and more!...

Safe to say I was like a kid in a candy store. I attended the conference in London last year and was expecting a much smaller scale production here in Aus, but it was even better!

After 10hrs of chatting, smiling and teetering in heels, I had definitely worked-up quite the appetite. Time for dinner at, the newly opened, Aristotle’s in Neutral Bay.

A mere hop, skip and jump over the bridge and we had arrived. Ushered to a table by the window by quite possibly the best waiter I’ve ever had [his name is Miguel], we took in our surroundings. The décor oozes sophistication and style with a subtle nautical theme, complete with ah-mazing pendant lights, gold cutlery and porthole-style mirrors. In a word, it’s lush.

Having seen several photos of their amazing cocktails, I knew exactly what I wanted to order. The "Greek Goddess" - Sipsmith Sloe Gin, Campari, Peychaud's bitters, pink grapefruit, Greek prosecco topped with vanilla fairy floss. If I were a cocktail this would be me. Sassy and exciting with a sweet outer coating.

We also tried this smoking little number – equally delicious!...

Now, take a breath, because you’re about to witness some truly breath-taking food. First up, a little nibble of delightfully fresh pita and hummus.

One of my favourites – scallops with kohlrabi, cauliflower puree and pastourma – a sensation.

Haloumi with pomegranate, honey and balsamic. Exactly as Miguel said it would be – little pillowy clouds. The best haloumi I’ve ever had.

Flaming Cypriot sausages served by Miguel. Because when in Rome a Greek restaurant.

Then finally, when we could fit no more – Aristotle’s cigar. Filo pastry filled with pistachio cream. Served in a wooden cigar box no less!

If you’re in Sydney looking for an amazing meal, do not miss Aristotle’s. It’s already a hive of activity so be sure to go now before it becomes Sydney’s favourite hotspot and has a month-long waiting list. It won't be long til that happens, I can tell you…
