Suitcase. A Weekend Away - Hyatt Regency Sydney

Having not been to Sydney since February, it seemed I was overdue for a visit! Time to escape the onslaught of rainy weather that whooshed in through Melbourne last weekend and jet for sunnier skies...

Home for the weekend was the lovely Hyatt Regancy, who has just celebrated their 1st birthday.

Containing something like 900 rooms, this incredible place is the largest hotel in the nation but it certainly doesn't feel like it with personalised touches everywhere you look.

Plus, their Christmas decorations are up which, for a festive elf like me, brought me true joy.

I nestled into my room, utterly content with its view overlooking Darling Harbour.

If you can, I suggest going for a Club Room - you'll have access to the Regency Club on the 11th floor with breakfast, all day snacks, as well as drinks and canapes of an evening. What more could a girl want?

I must say, having been to Sydney so many times I've now lost count, Darling Harbour has always been a favourite of mine so the location is 10/10.

Of course, I couldn't very well pay a visit without a quick jaunt out to Bondi for a dip. I will say however that the water was unusually icy for December!

After that shock to the system, I decided I was content to head back to the hotel, and snuggle up by the window with a warm cuppa' tea.

Next time you're in Sydney, book your own stay at the Hyatt Regency here. The rooms and facilities truly are 5 star and I think you'll find the prices surprisingly affordable for this [often exorbitant] city.
