Eat Me. Milk The Cow, St Kilda

There’s few things in life that give me such great pleasure as wine and cheese. I mean truly, it has to be a match made in culinary/alcoholic heaven. Creamy, textured diary with sharp, snappy wine. What could be better? Nothing. Except maybe having a dedicated venue that celebrates it. Get ready to indulge…

Have you heard of Milk The Cow? Well now you have and I’m telling you, even if you live interstate you’re going to want to make a trip for this one.

There’s 2 venues, one at the top end of town in Carlton and the other at the bottom in St Kilda. Pick your preference and bring an empty stomach... and your bestie.

Nestled by the window surrounded by the heady aromas of cheese, we set about choosing our selection from the menu. First you can opt for a “flight”. This involves a selection of wine/beer/sherry perfectly matched with a selection of cheese. It’s served on a nifty little board so you can nibble and sip to your heart’s content.

We were hoping to get a more extensive taste of the menu so chose a delightful drop of pinot noir and paired it with a 3 cheeses board from Australia and France featuring goats cheese, blue cheese and a cheddar. Mmmmmmm.

Next a little taste of sweet. Yarra Valley brie baked in French cider and truffle honey with glace figs. Is that not the best sentence you've ever heard? Talk about heavenly.

Quick special mention to the lovely ladies and gents working there. It's always a delight to receive such friendly, warm service.

Be sure to add this little hotspot to your weekend calendar and prepare to return again. There’s so many choices on the menu, no doubt you’ll have to. It really is dairy good.
